Who We Are
Meet the staff of the Southwest Shockers
Founder
Perry Warren
Perry Warren is the founder of the Athletic Supporters Foundation, which has sponsored hundreds of young men from Oklahoma and abroad since 2007 to play competitive baseball for the Southwest Shockers. The mission of this non-profit organization is to develop the character of young adults while helping them accomplish their goal of playing sports at the next level. Perry originally started this program to aid his son, Blake, and his friends and has continued that legacy since. Under Perry’s leadership and guidance the last fifteen years, the Shockers have prepared many players to compete at the collegiate level. In 2022, the Athletic Supporters Foundation restarted the Southwest Shockers competitive softball team, as Perry believes in using sports to teach young adults the values of responsibility, teamwork, perseverance, and humility.
In order to support the players, Perry asks four important questions to each player. He believes these are universal questions that the players can use for the rest of their lives to determine their motivation and their goals in their future endeavors.
1. Why do you - play baseball?
2. What do you want to accomplish - through playing the game of baseball?
3. How do your teammates say you play the game?
4. How do you want to be remembered as a - player by those who watched you play?
Born in the small community of Brinkman, Oklahoma, Perry grew up on his family farm that is still run by his mother and son today. He is a proud graduate of Granite High School and Oklahoma State University, where he double majored in agricultural economics and accounting, earning an Agricultural degree. Perry has worked in the financial services industry for over 27 years, currently employed as Financial Advisor and Senior Portfolio Management Director with The Orchard Group at Morgan Stanley in Lawton, OK. Perry and his wife, Kim, have two grown children, Blake and his wife, Tessa, and Taylor, and two grandchildren, Ryker and Madilyn.

Why am I at Southwest Shocker Baseball? "Baseball guys" are a dime a dozen. You can go anywhere and find outstanding baseball coaches and teachers- every program can truthfully claim that.
Placing ballplayers at the next level is also something that many organizations can and do produce. Southwest Shockers does both of those things at a high level as well. HOWEVER, what separates the Southwest Shockers from the rest is their commitment to player develop and baseball IQ and their philosophy and approach to developing men. Our goal is to deliver into society strong spiritual men that love Christ, are influencers, and great husbands and fathers who IMPACT the world through their example.
I am at Southwest Shockers organization for those reasons, for the leadership that Perry exhibits and demands from ALL of his coaches, and being a Southwest Shocker alumni as well. You can be sure that your son is in good hands both in baseball and more importantly the "man building" aspect. As a parent I wouldn't want my son anywhere else.”

Why am I at Southwest Shocker Baseball? “Early in my high school I was giving the opportunity to play for the shockers. I remember we were a bunch of 15 & 16 year olds playing 18U teams. We would get run ruled by them in the beginning of the summer. By the end of that summer we were playing right with those teams. We had improved dramatically and that’s what I strive for each summer with our teams now. We want our players to look back in 10 years and say man I loved playing for the shockers!”
